It has been a huge year for me blog wise, so I thought it would be fun to do a little round up of my most favourite posts since rebranding to Styled Canvas at the end of March. Perhaps you might have missed some of them too, so in the order of them being published, here it goes:
I absolutely adore blown glass objects and it was such a surreal experience for me to watch Isaac and Steve of Monmouth Glass Studio blowing glass. It’s such a beautiful ancient craft and I’ll be forever mesmerized by the experience. See the post here.
Our friend Teia is known for his amazing smoked salmon and fish. When you taste it, you find it very difficult to purchase some store bought again. As friends do, he came over for dinner, although this time, he cooked his famous dish for us. It was such a lovely evening sharing a meal with friends. You can see the process and moment here.
Cam and Gavin from Flotsam and Jetsam are such fantastic guys and I love their eye for turning junk into something desirable for the home. Midway through the year, they branched out and opened a second store, a warehouse with their larger items. Here’s a shop tour.
The Garden Objects online store has such a lovely edit of anything garden related. Think quality, durable and aesthetically beautiful. It was such a pleasure to visit the home and workspace of the owners, Jared and Lisa. Click here to see the post.
This post was hugely popular and rightly so. It’s the hometour of Ali of the beautiful Herne Bay store, Tessuti. Ali has such an incredible way of throwing things together in her store and home. You’ll discover loads of treasures and style in this tour.
When I wrote this post, I didn’t yet know that I would win the AMARA Interior blog awards. Here you’ll read me pouring my heart out about the reality of blogging and self-doubt. It seems that I’m not alone with many of these thoughts. Click here to read.
Auckland has so many cool precincts around that I decided that I’ll visit my favourites and document them on the blog. I began with the uber cool City Works Depot, a must visit if you’re in Auckland. If you’re not, you can get an idea by this post.
So there you go! I’d love to know if any of these are your favourites of my posts for the year. I’d also love to know if you’d like for me to cover anything in particular next year.
Mel xx
Monmouth and the reality of blogging were my personal faves. Also the smart build and the furniture by decade and… Oh so much more, love your blog. Onto a fresh and exciting (but not too exciting ;)) new year! xx
Thank you lovely Yvonne! Yes lets hope the inspiration will keep coming xx
A wonderful recap Mel!! 2015 is almost over, I can’t believe it!! How quick was that?! But then again, 2016 is waiting for us – with lots of amazing projects to come! But first let’s get ready for Christmas:-) Sending you a big hug from Germany!!
Christmas and a lovely break! For me it’s the only true time that I can switch off guilt free.
