I’m tea obsessed. It’s a ceremony for me; I boil fresh (filtered) water, take the teapot to the kettle, pour on the boil and time the brew to 3-5 minutes, depending on the leaf. I even have my little superstitious thing of turning the pot clockwise and anti-clockwise – a stir or swill would be sufficient but I’ve been doing this for as long as I’ve been drinking leaf tea so don’t dare to stop.
So when my trusty teapot was getting a little worse for wear, I spent hours and hours on the net to find the perfect pot. True! The one pot that caught my eye was the Kettle Teapot by Norm for Scandinavian design company Menu. The fact that you can pull the string to raise the teaegg once the brewing was done really spoke to me because I have burnt my fingers countless times taking the infuser out of the pot.
I’ve always gone for the traditional English style teapots and have never been a fan of glass ones until seeing this one, I guess because some serious design has gone into it. Still, I was hesitant and kept looking.
Luckily my husband was a little more decisive and came back from Europe this week bearing gifts, one of them the Kettle Teapot!
The unique design looks great and is a stylish statement in my kitchen. I can seal the spout to keep the tea piping hot for refills and it comes with two porcelain thermo cups, keeping it lovely and warm without burning my hands. I’m hooked.
The Kettle Teapot also comes in a Thermo Teapot.
Do you have a favourite teapot? Do you like the design of this one?
I’ve got to run now, brewing time is almost done… See you Friday!

That is so cool..i love it. I saw one once that was shaped like a white teapot but sat on a base like a kettle for the water to boil..pretty clever i think.
I have just gotten back into using teapots to brew my chai tea made on milk..a yummy afternoon tea treat. nicolex
I must say this teapot is a standout, so stylish. How lovely of your husband to bring you home such a gorgeous gift. I love drinking tea at night, my fav at the moment is tea with honey and lemon. Catherine x
Mel-I am totally in love with this tea pot- your clever husband! I’m going to put one on my xmas wish list. I’ll say again- your blog is just the most gorgeous design-I love it!;-) caroline
What a gorgeous teapot. I love hearing about other people’s hot drink rituals! My morning fix is coffee, but I do enjoy a nice cup of tea every now and then! I’m a big fan of Norm as well x
Great teapot Mel. For me the spout is an important factor when choosing a teapot as there’s nothing worse than a messy pour when entertaining. This pot looks like it combines form and function. Enjoy your teatime!
