I love mantles, not only are they a decorative feature, it’s a place to showcase some of my little treasures. We are lucky enough to have this gorgeous one in our home; I adore the moodiness of the painted black.
I never have enough places to display things though – do you find that? While I group things, I’m not into cluttering and I also need to have most things out of reach of little hands at the moment. So until I have more shelving, I have a box of objects in the attic that I take out every so often to swap things around and bring fresh life to the home.
Enjoy your Monday everyone:)

Lovely pics, Mel, you seem to have a very cozy home. How is the Porto Interior book by the way? The cover looks intriguing. xx
Thanks Gudy! The book is full of stunning photography in the architectural style. The interiors aren’t all necessarily beautiful (some are!) but interesting. x
Oh Mel, I really wish I had more space for my things! I have so many nice pieces still in boxes, we don’t have a lot of space to put shelves or furniture and certainly no mantle. I love your black one :)
Hi Suzie:) I hear you – I need to creative with shelving and the like… Our old place had those wide window sills that we used to place our decorative pieces on – very handy… High bookshelves are always good? Mel x
I’ve always lived in places with fireplace mantels. We have a beautiful marble mantle in our bedroom where I love displaying framed photos, vases and perfume. The black mantle looks stunning against the white walls. Wishing you a great week Mel. Catherine x
Oh I’d love a mantle in the bedroom, so lovely… Enjoy your week too x
