Welcome to April! Did you have a lovely Easter weekend? Over this side of the world, we’re lucky enough to have Easter Monday as a public holiday also so we get a long four-day weekend. Traditionally everyone goes away for the four days but we chose to hang out together at home and just enjoy each other’s company. Our family is also celebrating Guillaume’s birthday today so it’s a double celebration for us.
Of course with a new month, it’s time for me to honour the great blogosphere that is with my three post picks for the month of March:
Before and afters are so much fun to look at. After doing my own renovation, I always find it interesting to see what other people have achieved, especially with constraints like I had with the size of the bathroom. Grace from Design Sponge featured one of her reader’s bathroom renovations. It’s simple and effective and I love how she brought some elegance to the room with a gorgeous brass hand towel holder! Check it out for some ideas:

Last week I read a lovely interview with a Wellington based designer, Jane Denton over at Michelle’s, The Design Chaser. Jane specialises in textile art, it’s bold and beautiful and I will definitely be keeping an eye on her work. I always get pulled in with stories so what struck me about this interview was the pivotal moment in which her creations came about. Have a read and admire her designs.

Nancy at This Makes Me Happy, created a really simple step-by-step tutorial for us bloggers to make collages. I’ve wanted to learn photoshop for some time but found all of the tutorials out there a little daunting. This bite-sized guide is just what I was after! I hope that Nancy continues with her tutorials:

Finally, a big thank you to Tina over at Life In Sketch for passing some blogosphere love over my way and including my blog in her:

Enjoy your Easter Monday everyone and see here Wednesday.

Hi Mel, what great articles on all these blogs. Love the difference that touch of brass makes to the bathroom reno. I will bookmark the Jane Denton interview to read a little later. I don’t have photoshop yet but know where to go for a good tutorial when I do. Thank you so much again for your feedback on the video!!! I finished it off late last night as I was running out of time. Don’t you love the way our blogs challenge us and get us out of our comfort zones!!! Thanks for introducing me to Skillshare it’s been amazing. Catherine xx
Thanks Catherine and so glad that you loved the course – I only wish I did it also. M x
