Aboriginal Contemporary Art, Mel from Armoire Pegs & Casserole

Hi everyone, how was your weekend? Yesterday was Fathers Day for us so after treating “Papa” to breakfast in bed, we made ourselves a picnic and headed out for the day on the west coast of Auckland to celebrate not only Fathers Day, but the first day of spring!

You may have seen on Facebook that I did a guest post over at the lovely blog, Hege In France while she settles into her new home. Did you see it yet? I thought to compliment her modern meets vintage style, I would write a post on contemporary Aboriginal art. You may have already guessed that I’m a big fan of this style of bold artwork and being Australian, it’s very much close to my heart. I took a few photos of how it looks with in my new home. Above is one the photos of my entry. I hope that you come visit me to see the rest of the photos and say hi, I’d love to read your comments.

See you back here Wednesday!

Visited Hege’s blog first and left a comment. I always think of the dotted paintings when Aboriginal art is mentioned so thank you for showing us otherwise. I love your writing style so warm, friendly and informative and your photography and styling is lovely.
