I recently received a lovely package from one of my blogging friend, Jeanette of ByFryd consisting of her stylish HYSJ tote and in the blogging world, the much anticipated home decoration book, Wohnideen, Aus Dem Wahren Leben. Doing an internet translation from German, the title reads something like this; “Ideas for a real life experience. Inspirations of the best design blogger”. The book, if you’re not familiar, is dedicated to decoration inspiration of stylish European bloggers, including Jeanette, with 220 pages of images taken in their homes, each of them with their own unique twist to home decoration and the book is divided into themes; living, dining, organisation etc – in total, an absolutely brilliant idea for a book ! To be truthful, not understanding the written word is not a deal breaker for me, browsing through the pages of Pinterest worthy images loaded with decoration ideas is worth it and one that will sit proudly with my collection. I’ve enjoyed it so much that I thought that you would too, so lets take a little peek into the book…
Some of the images I’m able to place with particular blogger’s homes, and others I’m not entirely sure, so rather than guessing the German, you have to forgive me for not always giving credit. If you do happen to know whose home an image belongs to, please do let me know!
Above is most certainly the distinctive style of Holly Becker of Decor8 who also happens to write the foreword to the book. I’ve always admired her use of fabrics and soft feminine colours in her décor, so pleasing and fresh to look at.
The above interior looks like something out of an Elle Decoration don’t you think? The herringbone floor, the benches, the chandelier, oversized mirror and windows…
Above left I’m pretty sure is the rockstar chic style of the edgy Deserie of Vosgesparis. I’m not sure of whose interior is on the right although I’d do anything for that chair and I love the placement of the frames from floor and up.
Red is one of my favourite decor colours but I never thought to paint a floor red. Here it looks incredible in this light and spacious room and the pot plants over the railings inside is such a great touch.
This image I can absolutely say is the workspace of Gudy from Eclectic Trends, I know the gorgeous tiles well and her unmistakable delicate ceramics hanging on the wall above. I love how Gudy has used the contrast of the chair against the tiles. Such a beautiful creative space to work in.
Here is the light filled dining area of Holly from Avenue Lifestyle and I particularly love that side cabinet! I know that Holly has recently purchased her own home so I really look forward to seeing what she comes up with in her new interior.
For all of the images, I really like the composition of this photo, looking into the round mirror on the wall, through the door with a glimpse of a pretty bedroom, it really seduces you with the suggestion.
This is without a doubt, the bedroom of Jeanette of ByFryd who has such a wonderful and much admired personal dreamy style. Her painted wooden walls, white vintage furniture and simplicity, which is uniquely hers.
The bedroom above is of Nina from Stylizimo, her elegant monochrome palette is a showstopper.
There are some really lovely ideas for kids bedrooms in the book, as shown above.
Finally, the garden of Yvonne from Yvestown. So fresh and pretty, like her much loved home décor, I don’t know about you but I’d love to pass summer days at that table…
If you’re an interiors lover, the images and ideas in Wohnideen, Aus Dem Wahren Leben is all you need. You can purchase the book directly from the publishers Callwey or on Amazon. Fingers crossed for an English version soon.

Thanks for sharing the photos, they are so beautiful! The book is definitely going on my wish list. And my hubby speaks a little German, so maybe I can have him translate for me. :)

This book seems to be a real gem with the homes of many of my favourite bloggers at one place! I think I should add it to my next Amazon order. Fortunately I have learned German back in school, so maybe I remember something and understand a little bit :)
