On my speedy trip back to Sydney last week I had coffee with a friend in Bondi and she had her friend, Clementine join us. It turns out that Clementine recently moved to Sydney from Paris and is a super talented illustrator or what she calls herself a doodle designer under her brand,  “Blule“. Hearing that, I was pretty curious to see her style.

The first of her illustrations I was drawn to was the very cool Captain America,  the movement of the image is spot on and of course it would look great in my boy’s room. All of her interpretations of super heroes would most certainly be my favourites but that’s not saying that her other work isn’t equally impressive either. Clementine also creates some beautiful illustrations for us adults with scenes from Paris to Bondi or that black cat that crossed her path. You can view her vast array of work  in her online gallery.

Each of her work is sold in the form of the choice of original with only one print reproduction for sale, so it keeps its nice and unique with only two of the same illustrations out there. The original is made with watercolour and pencil or ink on handmade Indian watercolour paper sheet. Clementine  had some examples of the prints on hand as she was taking them to the post office after the café and I actually mistook them for the originals, impeccably printed on quality Hahnemuhle Torchon paper.

The best part for me would be the daily inspiration that I signed up for called “Colour Up Your Day – A healthy dose of colours in your inbox every day.” Where each and every day you receive a new illustration in your inbox. That illustration will then move to her online boutique for sale if it hasn’t been sold prior. A really nice idea don’t you think? You should definitely sign up, receiving them will certainly put a smile on your face.

How very charming and how nice you met Clementine… her style is very beautiful and delicate.
The idea of sending an illustration a day is genius. Not only do you inspire potential fans and customers but it forces her to do the work. Really nice idea.

Thank you Mel. Clementine is very talented x
