Meet Lena, the author of Mina Moka, a blog dedicated to the beauty behind design – and beauty she truly shares. Lena is based in the very cool city of Berlin but is an international girl at heart and has spent many years living and traveling abroad. Her blog reflects her discoveries in her hometown and around the world, from contemporary, elegant design to the local artisan. It’s a beautiful eclectic mix that is always true to the roots of design aesthetic and as you can see, she takes stunning photographs. Along with her gorgeous blog, by day Lena works as a freelance screen writer and script consultant! I’m so pleased to have this multi-talented girl sharing a special place in her home for the “My Space” series.
I live in Berlin, in a typical turn of the century building with wooden floors and high ceilings – I like it a lot, but squeezing a family of four and my home office into a two bedroom apartment is quite a challenge sometimes. That lack of space makes our cozy corner in the living room an even more important place for me. Luckily I can even see my favourite space through the windows of a wooden door from my bed when I wake up. Seeing that Giacometti print and fresh flowers or twigs always lifts my mood. I love to sit here with a cup of tea or coffee in the morning or a glass of wine at night, listen to music (yes, we actually use that record player, it’s not just decoration) and flip through magazines or books. Both the side table and the sideboard were ebay finds and the style in this corner pretty much reflects our overall style: an eclectic mix of flea market and vintage finds, many big and small things that were given to us by our families and only very few items we bought new.
Thank you Mel for having me over at your blog and letting me be a part of this series where I’m in such great company!
Thanks so much for sharing your gorgeous space with us Lena, it’s every bit as stylish as I imagined it would be! I have to add that love that record player and am tempted to get one myself.
