I always love that lone armchair in the home. Quite often it sits in the bedroom, beckoning for an item of clothing to be thrown over at the end of the day or sitting elegantly beside a sideboard in the living room. It’s a statement piece, a chair that doesn’t get that every day use, but is always there as a back up to be pulled out for that extra person.
Pick Up Sticks, the latest armchair to be designed by Simon James for Resident here in New Zealand would suit that purpose perfectly. Launched at Edit by Design Junction during the Salone del Mobil in Milan in April, and finalist in the 2014 Home Magazine Design Awards. It’s without a doubt that this chair would certainly add a bit of eye candy to a room. The solid oak frame is impressive in its form and design with the upholstered components manufactured separately for shorter lead times. While there are a variety of custom colour options available, I don’t know about you but I quite fancy the quilted fabric choice.
Happy weekend!
Mel xx
Very sleek and elegant! We have many lone chairs ( particularly children classics) in the house, on different floors. Love having the variety.
Have a great week lovely xx
Oh lucky you and hmmm different floors? Your house sounds more amazing than I thought. Have a great weekend too Geraldine xx M
I am fascinated by the so called Spanish chair (just learned that name) with deeply tanned leather. I have a different armchair in my bedroom using it on a daily base, not for its designed purpose but just as a bedcover storage place until the next morning. Have a wonderful weekend, Mel, hugs from Venice.
Oh I love the Spanish chair, I just looked it up. Have a great weekend Gudy and in Venice, how nice! M xx
