Handmade ceramics is something that I, and it seems, most of the world just can’t get enough of. The latest line of work to catch my eye is that of Susan Simonini.
Susan studied fine art at University, majoring in printmaking and painting and went on to lead quite a successful decade as an artist, exhibiting her works both locally and internationally before turning her love to pottery. Lucky for us she did.
Susan works out of her home studio in sunny Brisbane and mainly uses traditional techniques, which allow the beauty of imperfection to mark her creations. I really like her signature style of keeping part of her ceramics quite raw and earthy at the time of decoration.
Susan’s work can be purchased via her online Etsy store, or contact her directly and keep up to date with her latest work and market visits on her blog.
