Last week I would have done anything to be soaking up the balmy weather of south East Asia, rather than the freezing Auckland temperatures, so escaping to the media launch of Citta Design’s summer collection, A Midsummer Daydream held at Café Hanoi for one morning, was what I’d call a very pleasant micro break from the wet cold day outside.
Rich hues of indigo blue, yellow and lush green foliage mingled with rattan dominated the theme inspired by the French colonised city of Hanoi. Citta Design’s head designer, Imogen Tunnicliff, spent some time in the city and spoke of how it inspired her to embrace traditional handcrafting techniques in the fabric designs, fully embracing the beauty of imperfection.
There’s certainly a distinctive difference from their winter collection, which was themed around Copenhagen winters. But that’s what I believe will make an interior all the more interesting, mixing different styles to create your very own individual look.
A Midsummer Daydream will be hitting Citta Design’s New Zealand and Australian stores late August, until then, here’s a little peek of the gorgeousness to come.

The first image is stunning! x
Gorgeous! I love how architectural the prints are. I’m quite picky about patterns and prints.
I have been visiting Citta about once a week lately. It’s a nice escape from the work day. Looking forward to seeing this range in the shop.
It’s really lovely Genie, I’m looking forward to seeing it again myself. Have a great weekend xx
I’m beginning to embrace yellow more and more, and combined with blue it seems so classy yet informal. Perhaps I will get to pop into one of their shops while I’m visiting Australia and NZ.
Oh you should visit them, they’re great stores – just make sure you arrive with an empty suitcase. Thanks for the reminder, I will get back to you with my recommendations for both cities I promise! xx
I agree with a Gudy, I love that first image, the light shades are pretty gorgeous too! Xx
I’m picturing the lamp shades in the sunroom of our Sydney apartment. Love them! xx
Love the first image and how the open fruit balances the yellow cushion color pops over a moody background. Just really well done! Sending you some sun rays and warmer temperatures over, Mel!
I love that image too. Really well done. Thanks for the rays, I’m sooo looking forward to summer. Look forward to reading your travel post Gudy, I’ve got it bookmarked. Mel xx
