For this side of the world, today’s My Space is more than appropriate. We’re three days into spring and suddenly we are itching to get outside and make our very own space in the garden. It’s a pleasure to introduce my guest today, Emma who authors the lifestyle blog, A Quiet Style which is filled with interior inspiration, fashion, handmade and life with her two beautiful girls. Emma has such a lovely online presence and also a big passion for flowers, which is reflected in her stunning Instagram feed. Enjoy taking a little peek into her courtyard today and do make sure you pop over to her blog to say hi if you haven’t already.
When lovely Mel asked me if I would like to be featured in her My Space column, I knew immediately that I wanted to share a spot in my garden, and although it is different from the usual and I must say absolutely beautiful interiors that Mel usually shares, fortunately she agreed!
As cliched as it sounds, my garden really is my sanctuary, it is a typical City garden so only small but at the tiniest hint of sun, you will find me out there, and ideally I will be doing one of my favourite things, eating cake! I am an outdoors girl at heart, and a firm believer in the importance of daily Vitamin D, so even without the cake, I try to find the time to just sit at this little spot every day whilst my youngest daughter naps, feel the sun on my face and just breathe.
I often dream of having a lovely big garden, but even so, I do love this little spot, the table is one of my favourite vintage finds, the chairs are vintage too, but are sadly starting to deteriorate in our variable climate, it is only a matter of time before I fall through one, especially if I continue to eat so much cake!
It is starting to feel like autumn is on its way here in the UK, so I’m off to make the most of my space, thanks so much for having me Mel xx
Thank you so much Emma for sharing your gorgeous outdoor space, I understand why you spend so much time out there and I adore your table!

I totally agree Sarah, and I love that vintage vibe. Thanks for stopping by:) M x
It would be indeed Mel, if you ever venture to the UK, you would be more than welcome for a cuppa and some cake xx
I just popped over to her IG and Gudy is right – what wonderful styling! I’m a new fan. Thanks for featuring her.
Oh glad you discovered her! I just remembered I need to get back to you with recommendations. When do you leave? x
Ladies, greetings from London.
Beautiful outdoor spot Emma. I also love your vintage chairs. Unfortunately everything on the terrace deteriorates due to the cold winters.
Also love the succulent under the cage.
Thank you both and have a nice weekend xx
That cage is a gorgeous touch isn’t it? And the treaded shells… beautiful. Happy weekend Tina, enjoy the autumn colours. M xx
What a lovely column Mel. I love Emma’s table, so pretty. I’m lucky enough to know Emma, (we’re both in Brighton) and it’s been wonderful watching her blog and photography grow in such a short space of time. Very inspirational!
Oh lucky you to live near Emma. She has such a warm online presence that I imagine she would be so lovely in person. Yes, Emma is going so well and she’s got an amazing eye and style which will definitely take her places. Thanks for stopping by. Mel x
Definitely one of my favourite my space editions, I love everything about that little outside space. Thank you for introducing us to Emma! I’m following her on Ingram now, too, of course…

Thanks Emma for your beautiful contribution. I would love to be sitting at that table having a cuppa with you right now. Wouldn’t that be fun? M x
What a beautiful space full of inspiration and at the same time so relaxed! I follow Emma on IG and love all her posts. I actually met her through your blog, Mel! Thank you for sharing this….what a great way to start my day! Big hugs, Jocelyn
Oh I’m glad you met here, how nice! Her outdoor space is just adorable. xx
It is as pretty as her IG gallery! She is doing such a great styling and photography job there. It’s wonderful to see how she grows on followers every single day and if you see those images you understand why. A really nice surprise having her with you. xx
It is isn’t it? Emma is very active on IG and I like her recent challenge she set for Tuesdays. I met her through the last BYW and she’s so lovely! Mel x
Gorgeous! I love to make a nice outdoor space when we’re having friends over. We haven’t eaten out in a while now, though the weather is starting to be kinder. I’ve never been into growing flowers, I prefer to concentrate on growing edibles, but lately I’ve been thinking about buying some plants for their wonderful scent.
You could get edible flowers too – win win! I’m so looking forward to spending time on our deck. Love springtime! Have a great day Genie. x
