Instagram is such a great expression for personal style. It also forces me to move things around a little and try new things out a little more than before. This is actually a good thing because it freshens things up in the house as I use it as my little playground for styling. I also find myself buying a lot more flowers these days with Instagram in mind.
Here are a few vignettes that I shared over the past couple of months:
I was so upset when I accidentally broke this branch off my tomato vine and then I saw that it looked so pretty in a vase.. I’ve seen cumquats and lemons in a vase but never tomatoes. Still I do much prefer to eat them. Luckily one of my IG followers suggested that I put them in a dark drawer. Sure enough, yesterday I opened the drawer and most of them are close to ripe. Magic! Here’s the proof.
A friend picked these beautiful roses from her garden for me. Nothing is better than flowers from a garden… and they looked so beautiful in this brass jug.
Sweet daisies. Sometimes flowers just need to sit alone so that we can fully grasp their beauty.
The vignette below got a lot of attention on IG and it’s probably one of my favourite arrangements I’ve done. Pity I couldn’t keep it like that for long, the plants needed a little more light.
Once again, a beautiful flower arrangement doesn’t need much else. To me, a vignette needn’t be fussy. Sometimes simplicity is best.
Happy Wednesday all!
Mel xx

Your vignettes are always a joy to look at: so many textures and shapes and details….
Thanks so much Donatina x
Beautiful vignettes! I never know quite where to start with trying to put one together. But like you say, simple is often best. And I’m still loving the tomato tip :)
Thanks Bex:) You’re in Sydney right? You should go to one of Kara Rosenlund’s vignette classes at The School – so much fun! I know that tomato tip is amazing…! Mel x
Your vignettes are so beautiful, Mel! And you’re right: sometimes simplicity is best. The light is beautiful too… Good luck on the rebrand launch! x
Thanks Yvonne. Oh I feel like it’s going forever but we need to get it right. xx
I feel the same way, Mel. Often times I find myself just being quiet in my home and rearranging things to suit my mood and inner vibration. I am excited to see your new blog and I have no doubt it will be anything but beautiful. Signing up for the newsletter now! xx
Thanks Jocelyn. Give that gorgeous baby of yours a cuddle for me.
