So we have to move again. Yep, that’s right and it’s an inconvenience to say the least. We’ve been in this house two years now and while we feel a little cramped, I always knew we were on a good thing. It’s in a great location, it’s renovated, warm, and it has the most incredible view that goes out to the Waitakere Ranges.
We’re now looking for our fourth house to live in since we moved to New Zealand four years ago. It’s just crazy when I think about it. I don’t know if we’ve just had really bad luck with this, or it’s the property market on this side of the world. If you own a house in this area of Auckland, you’re sitting on a fortune.
It’s the same in Sydney and I remember how relieved I was when we purchased our place there so that we didn’t have play the rental game anymore. That was then and it was only the two of us, with no children. Packing up a house of five is really something else and something that I don’t look forward to, at all. Of course we’ll make it one big fun adventure for them. We keep saying this and I mean it, if these are the problems that we have, then we’re lucky.
So onto a new house, with new memories… and I do hope that the new one will be photogenic for me (and you). Being in the interior game, there’s always the positive side of a move because there’s the redecorating that needs to be done. The fun part! Oh and I’m really hoping that I get to have my own studio with white walls and polished concrete or floorboards. That would be pretty awesome.
We have until 1st September to move out and I’ll be in Sydney for three weeks in the middle which makes it a little tricky. Please keep your fingers crossed for us that we find something great, and if you are on this side of the world and hear of anything that might be coming up in the Ponsonby surrounds, please let me know!
