I’m sitting on my bed writing this to the sounds of cartons being taped. Thankfully it’s not me doing it. We are expats and because we have to move, a company will pack and move for us. Being what feels like a professional mover, this makes the experience a little bit easier as anyone who has moved house will know.
In case you didn’t hear the news, we are moving house tomorrow or today as this post is published. They are selling our current home and we had three months to find something. Guillaume actually found something for us (yes I trusted him) while we were in Sydney. It all happened rather quickly and here we are, less than a few days after arriving back home, moving house and on to new beginnings. My head is spinning to say the least.
I still have some work cut out for me though. I need to unpack and work with my new space which is going to take some time, so please bare with me. As much as I would love to check in here, I need to be realistic and I’m pretty sure that I won’t have a moment to post next week. I also doubt that we will have an Internet connection for a couple of weeks either. Silly me gave the telco company our wrong street number and just as I was so pleased that I’d be connected to the net on our first day at the property, we have to start with the application again! Perhaps this is a blessing in disguise and I can totally focus on getting our new home finished.
I can’t wait to show you our new place bit by bit; it’s a perfect canvas and our furniture and bits and bobs are going to look great in it! So now on to the exciting part…
So bye home, thanks for everything, it’s been great here these past two years. Boy I’m really going to miss that view!
Mel x
P.S. I will be on Instagram, so I hope that you join me there and follow our move.
Enjoy the journey dear Mel, can’t wait to see the new home in which i am sure it’s plenty beautiful xx
Thank you sweet Joi! We’re getting there:-) x
Good luck Mel – it’s always sad to leave a place you’ve loved, but incredibly exciting to start afresh and style something new – I only did it three years ago and had so much fun tweaking and reorganising to get it right. You must let me know your new address – are you still in the neighbourhood? Have fun and look forward to seeing, what I know, will be a fabulous new home! x
Thank you so much Ro. Now that we’re on the other side it feels a lot better. We can’t wait to have you over for an aperitif soon!
New beginnings are always exciting and frightening at the same time – maybe this is why they fill us with such anticipation and motivation, or so I find… I am sure you will know how to make your new abode your home once you are settled in. I’ll most certainly bear with you and wait in happy anticipation to read about this new adventure of yours. Take care, happy moving to you and your family and let’s keep in touch!
Thanks so much Donatina. It certainly feels much better and exciting now that most of the boxes have been unpacked. I agree that change is good! Big hugs and thanks for your support. Mel x
Best of luck, Mel! You’ll have it looking great in no time, I’m sure. Xxx
Thanks Bex sweet you! x
I haven’t moved for 14 years, but I remember it being a quite an ordeal. At the same time it’s exciting getting to know a completely new house – its sounds and its quirks. Enjoy getting settled – We’ll be here when you get back!
Thanks Cyndi! Yes it is a huge job, our only salvation is that someone packed for us. We’re nearly there… phew! xx
Good luck with the move Mel, just think of the fun you’ll have styling the new place. MJx
Thanks Michelle! Yes I feel the excitement now, it’s certainly not so overwhelming now that most of the boxes have been unpacked. M xx
