A divided city. On one side, the prosperous, modern West Berlin, on the other, East Berlin, a Soviet-administered zone of grit, grey and graffiti. And throughout, the 1970’s zeitgeist of artistic freedom, passionate idealism and rebellious spirit.
This was the inspiration for Citta Design’s 2016 winter collection, “Beautiful Utility, a journey to 1970’s Berlin.” I had an opportunity to view it last week at the media launch, held at the very fitting, Imperial Lane.
You’ll find a juxtaposition of materials and styles from the functional to the playful and glam (hello Bowie cushion cover!). There is also a very relevant colour palette that we’re just beginning to see right now in the international design scene with lots of Khaki, greys and mud that are softened with powdery pink hues. Citta Design is right on the mark with this new collection!
Here’s a little peek of what you’ll now find in store and online.
