Today I’m revealing my bedroom. It a rather small space which makes it quite difficult to take photographs of – at the bottom of the bed there’s probably only about a metre and half before you hit the wall! If you remember the size of our last bedroom, it makes it feel even smaller, but having an ensuite and of course the rest of the house makes up for it.
You may have seen this room styled differently before for some beautiful linen available at The Foxes Den. Here the bed is more in summer mode with my vintage linen sheets that my mother in-law from France gave me (I’m lucky enough to have a collection), coupled with a light cotton blanket and an appliqué bedspread, handmade in India that my friend Tash has in her store. This was a gift from her after I was a bridesmaid at her wedding, it’s so pretty.
The African beads were hung on the lamp without a thought one day and ended making their home there. This little silver box was Guillaume’s grandmothers, they don’t make things like that anymore. It’s the perfect earplug holder!
The round copper tray is actually a vintage French jam strainer. We once had it on the kitchen wall, but I kind of like it in a non-obvious spot.
I love the marriage of the vintage monogramed linen against the appliqué bedspread. There’s also nothing quite like sleeping beneath those sheets, the quality of linen is certainly different these days. Can you imagine that these would most likely come from the early 1900’s? They’re indestructible!
In case you missed it, I’m doing a bit of a series on my home before we head off to our new life in Stockholm. So far, you can also see the previous posts on my living room and kitchen. More coming up next week.

What a stunning bedroom Mel – I love the space and you can’t see that it is small from the pictures. The colour scheme is perfectly Scandinavian ;-) Have a lovely week sweets.

Gorgeous look and super inspiring! I love how tranquil the room feels which I always feel is particularly important in the bedroom – it’s the one place where you can finally switch off :)

It’s true. We have changed our bedroom look quite a bit but it’s the simple, no fuss that always feels the best hands down. Thanks Lara! xx
As you may have guessed, I’m definitely a colour lover, but this is really beautiful, Mel. The idea of using more neutral tones in the bedroom is really starting to appeal to me actually. I love the jam strainer on the wall too – so clever! x
Hi Hollie. I’m with you, I don’t tend to have too much of a white interior, however I do appreciate it in the bedroom. Have a lovely weekend! Mel x
Beautiful, Mel. Love that you actually use the linen, I’d be a little hesitant to do so. And that jam strainer is just genius… Maybe a new blogseries: objects in unexpected places? ;)
Thank you lovely! Hey, that’s a really good idea!! x
