I have a huge admiration for the Danish design company, Stelton, so I was quite curious to see what new product releases they would have at the AW17 FORMEX. Without a doubt, the hero story was around the STOCKHOLM collection.
Stockholm is a city surrounded by the sea, so it is no wonder that this was the inspiration behind Swedish design duo, Bernadotte & Kylberg’s idea. The collection, with the city’s namesake celebrates the picturesque seascape of Stockholm’s beautiful archipelago and the Baltic Sea with its shades of blue and green.
I like how they’ve pushed the boundaries of industrial design. While it gives the initial impression of ceramics here, they’ve actually used an innovative production technique of cold enamel on aluminium. This gives a lovely smooth finish and while it fits in well with the Stelton aesthetic, the painted graphics in Indian ink gives a refreshing point of difference.
The STOCKHOLM collection consists of Aquatic, a painted graphic on white and Horizon. Each style comes in various sized vases and bowls, while the serving platter, cheese plane, knife, slicer and cake knife are available only Aquatic.
The beautiful craftsmanship and timeless design put into these products mean that they are keepers to pass on for generations. That’s always a good idea! While I love both of the designs, the graphic nature of the Aquatic would have to be my favourite. Do you have a preference?

It’s really surprising from them but I love the vases particularly. a collection of them might break the bank but would look absolutely stunning.
I can see one above my mantle!! Have a lovely week Mary x
