My friend is on the hunt for some new dining chairs, and it got me thinking; if money wasn’t an object, what would my ultimate short list be? It was such a tough choice with all of the incredible designs out there but so much fun to go virtual shopping.

Le Corbusier Arm Chair for Thonet

I love Thonet chairs; in fact I have six of the no. 18 around my table that I got for a steal on eBay. A couple of the Le Corbusier’s at either end would complete the look perfectly!

Kuskoa by Alki

I just love how versatile and simple the design is. You can have one or both sides of the shell in wool, leather or wood, which rests on an oak wool trestle. I’d go for the wool, perfect and inviting for long dinner parties.

Panton Chair

A classic of modern design that happens to not only look incredible but is ergonomically designed. Definitely another dinner party favourite!

Standard chair

A lot of Jean Prové’s furniture, including this chair, were originally made for universities and government organisations for their practicality. They are now appreciated for their incredible design. Perfect with the old school chair revival.

Cherner Chair

I adore the curves of this mid century icon by Norman Cherner. I love the design of this one so much that if I can’t have six of them, perhaps I could get just one for the corner of my bedroom to throw my clothes over?

Tolix

Okay they’re everywhere now, but they are just so cool! Vintage is even better and if they’re too cold on the derrière, a lambswool over them looks great.

Is your favourite chair here?  I’d love to know which one you’d choose.

Have a great weekend everyone and see you back here Monday!
