Weekend

My mum is visiting us from Sydney at the moment. We’re having such a lovely time together and the kids are over the moon to have one of their treasured grandparents here. One of the most difficult thing about living in a different country for me is the thought that my children don’t get to have their grandparents around in their everyday life.

On the upside, when they do visit, it’s good quality time. If you follow me on Instagram, you might have seen that we visited the Bay of Islands up north last weekend, it was such a perfect time. I’ll share some photos with you in the not too distant future. The rest of the time we’re just hanging out and I’m getting a bit of help with my piles of washing which is always welcome! No one ever warned me about how much washing kids create!

Before Mum arrived, I ensured that I got as much work done as possible so that we could spend quality time together. The post I had planned for today has been put on hold, so instead I’m dropping in to say a quick hello and to wish all the mothers out there celebrating mothers day this weekend a great day! I’ve got two beautiful mums, my birth mother who is visiting right now and my step mother who has been like a mum to me too. I feel so blessed to have these wonderful women in my life.

So have a great weekend everyone, mine is looking pretty jam packed already, starting with three generations of girls off watch Cinderella today!

P.S. You have until the end of Sunday Auckland time to go in the draw to win a Print By George photography print of your choice. Details here.

Happiness seeps though your words – and is contagious :-) My mom and I live a couple of thousands km apart, which is not much, if you think about it. But still. Enough to make me sad when I do not see her for a couple of months. Time spent together is precious and should be cherished in our hearts. I hope you had a fantastic mother & daughter time!

I now know how precious Mother/daughter time is when you live in different cities. I’m sure you had a wonderful time with your Mum and I love that the three generations went to see Cinderella together ( I’ve heard it’s a great movie and know a few big girls that have gone to see it, apparently Cate Blanchett is fabulous in it). Your Mum must be over the moon spending time with you and her grandchildren and yes can totally relate to those piles of washing. It’s been raining here in Melbourne for the last couple of days so mine is piling up! xx

Thanks Catherine. I had such a lovely time with Mum, it was so nice to have a little holiday with her too and Cinderella – well probably a little too old for Lou but Mum and I loved it. Ha ha. xx
