I’ve wanted a textile wall hanging for just about forever now. I feel like it is the one thing missing from my collection. I know that it will be a bit of an investment though and life’s little expenses pop up and you know how it is, it gets put off yet again. I’m almost considering taking it up myself. It would be such a lovely and rewarding craft to do but I do wonder if I’d be happy to hang it when I look at amazing works of art like that of Mimi Jung’s weavings. Beautiful aren’t they?
Based in New York, Mimi’s studies in fine Art and graphic design have given her textiles a unique and modern edge. This experience has led her to treat her weavings like that of a painting and self-expression rather than technique. I’m smitten.
Do you have any favourites here? Perhaps you’ve taken up weaving or intend to?

Mel, these are beautiful! I love the thin rods as well. The third is my absolute favorite.
I know right? The copper rods set them off beautifully but I do wonder how they would wear with the tarnish and then it would be so difficult to clean. x
