happenings and weekend reads.

I can’t believe that we are moving into our last week of January! It makes me a little sad knowing that we have only one more month left of official summer. Okay we do manage to stretch it out into March, but still. I do live for the sun and warm weather!

We’ve had such a jam packed fun December and January. It’s been one big blur between school holiday activities, day trips, Christmas, two holidays, friends staying with us and next week we’re off on our third holiday! I’m feeling rather spoilt and almost guilty for having such a great time…

First up was the sailing, and then Guillaume and I trekked the Tongariro Alpine Crossing. I’ll be posting photos of this unforgettable experience next Friday. Next week we’ll be staying in the Coromandel for the last hurrah. I love it there, it’s my favourite beach holiday location. Usually we stay in Hahei, however this time we thought we should see another part and will stay on the other side of the peninsular in Waitete Bay. It has a lovely safe swimming bay lined with pohutukawa trees… After two adventure holidays, this is the quintessential beach getaway and I can’t wait! On our return, it’s back to school and the routine, which I have to say that I’m half looking forward to.

Before I head off, this is what I’ve been up to or reading lately:

Feathr published an article with the best design highlights of modern architecture, art, contemporary living, modern homes and interior design for 2015. I was honoured to be one of the 28 design experts asked to contribute with my pick.

I’ve been busy writing a series of articles for IMB bank in Australia. Here are two of them:

Creating an affordable and stylish outdoor area

Decorate with style and for less with vintage

On the vintage note, it’s no secret that I love it! If you do too and want to see it done to perfection, pop over to Abigal Adhern’s blog to see the talented Anastasia’s apartment. She has such an incredible sense of individual style.

Finally, I loved reading Lucy’s post on what’s really involved in a stying shoot from the conception until the end result.

Happy weekend everyone!
