Wrong for Hay Lens Box Stackable cork
You may have noticed that we’ve being seeing cork a lot more in object design lately, especially with some of the main players. It has such a lovely smooth yet tactile feel with gorgeous muted colour tones that it’s really no wonder.
The beauty of cork is that it’s a sustainable material, being both renewable and biodegradable. Apparently a cork tree that has its bark removed every nine years will absorb three to five times as much CO2 emissions than a regular tree. Now that alone makes for a very strong case to use and encourage more design with this beautiful material.
Below are some designs that have caught my eye of late. Do you have any favourites here?

Love the clown nose, although cork will not be making an appearance in our house, as I have an overwhelming urge to break pieces off, don’t ask me why, perhaps something to do with cork tiles being trendy when I was a kid!
