T2 Tea is here
Okay, I really don’t know how this one slipped under my radar. One of my all time favourite shopping destinations is now in Auckland, T2 Tea. Doing happy dance here!
Summer Meatballs
When I had my second child, I had a wonderful bunch of friends around me who would drop off meals for my family and me in the first few weeks of arriving home with my new baby. In case you’re wondering, home cooked meals would be without a doubt one of the best presents for a mother with a newborn! One of the many delicious meals gifted to me was this recipe of summer meatballs which went down an absolute treat in our house, Guillaume and I loved it and our eldest child, who was a toddler at the time, couldn’t get enough. I asked my friend for the recipe and it’s since become a favourite for our family. An added bonus, and always a winner for busy families is that this recipe freezes well, so I tend to always cook double quantity.
Preserved Lemons
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve chosen a recipe to make and then realised that it calls for preserved lemons and decided against it. Firstly, they’re not always the easiest to find and when I do, it’s usually so over priced for something that is relatively inexpensive and so simple to make that I can’t bring myself to purchase it. So yesterday when I faced that same problem, and had a kilo of lemons on hand, I decided to make my own.
Chocolate & Raspberry Dessert Cake
It was my eldest son’s sixth birthday yesterday and the lucky boy would have enjoyed three birthday cakes this year: One to share with his class, one with the family and another tomorrow for his party! While the school and party cakes are of the sweeter, colourful childlike style, last night I thought we’d enjoy something a little finer, to develop those little taste buds – a chocolate and raspberry dessert cake.
5 Food Questions with Eleanor Ozich
If you’ve ever found yourself at the Petite Kitchen blog, more than likely you would have been seduced by the beautiful imagery and message that Eleanor has for her readers, to enjoy clean simple food and to get lost for the afternoon in your kitchen. You really do feel like doing just that. This is no ordinary blog, it’s something that was born out of the love for her daughter whom suffered from extreme and what was thought to be incurable eczema and mood swings. On the advice of her naturopath, Eleanor eliminated sugar, grains, additives and preservatives from her family’s diet and now her daughter’s behavioral problems and eczema is a thing of the past.
Sydney Instagram Roundup
It feels good to be home after two fantastic jam-packed weeks in Sydney. We had so much fun reconnecting with friends and family and soaking up the city again. We were completely spoilt with the weather, the sun shone every day bar one, and temperatures reached a crazy (for winter) 24 degrees Celsius. I admit we were lucky because I was told that the weeks prior were wet and cold…
Shepherds Pie with a Twist
Shepherds pie is the ultimate comfort food and having a British father, it’s a dish I pretty much grew up on. I remember when we’d visit my Nanna, she’d always send us home with a huge dish of it and we’d eat it for days until we couldn’t bare the sight of it.
Sydney Adventures
So that’s it, I’m off to Sydney today! I can’t wait! It’s been too long between visits and I’m so looking forward to catching up with my friends and family.
