Over the weekend it was my pleasure to be a guest at The Inner Interior for a monthly column called, “The Voice of the Vignette”. The concept is for a blogger or designer to create a vignette in their home, photograph it and share what meaning it holds for them. Today I added a few more gorgeous handmade products to my Great.ly boutique and thought it might be time to show you some of that goodness here. I have to say that it’s so much fun curating this store and love the idea of bringing handmade talent from here and around the globe together.

With winter finally here in the southern hemisphere, there needs to be a few rituals in place that’s good for the soul to help us get through these wet and cold months. For me, other than copious bowls of hot yummy soup and thick bed socks to wear around the home, I always have a throw to snuggle under on the sofa. Even with the luxury of central heating, nothing beats that cosy feeling.
Pick Up Sticks Armchair by Resident
I always love that lone armchair in the home. Quite often it sits in the bedroom, beckoning for an item of clothing to be thrown over at the end of the day or sitting elegantly beside a sideboard in the living room. It’s a statement piece, a chair that doesn’t get that every day use, but is always there as a back up to be pulled out for that extra person.
My Space | Corinne Kowal of Emerald Green Interiors
After a refreshing break from my everyday life and responsibilities, I can truly appreciate today’s My Space feature. Corinne Kowal is a colour consultant and authors the blog, Emerald Green Interiors. She has long tooted the benefit of colour in the home, long before the re-emergence of coloured walls and when it was all about “white”. I first admired her elegant decorating style after seeing a feature on her old apartment in Brussels by Holly Marder for Houzz. When she recently packed up her life and relocated to Madrid, I was so excited to see how she would decorate her new environment so after some months of settling in, I asked her if she would be my guest and share a special place in her new home with us. Well, it seems that she went beyond that actually created the space that she longed for! While I never intend to create too much work for my guests, I actually feel good about this one because everyone needs their own little sanctuary and I don’t know about you, but I’d love to curl up in this one right now.

Monsoon Living Online Store Opening
Let me tell you about one of my dearest friends, Tasha and the opening of her online store, Monsoon Living. Tash and I met in the mid nineties when we were both working in the television industry and hit it off straight away. She visited me twice while I was living in Europe, was one of my bridesmaids and I was one of hers, so it goes without saying that she’s a pretty special friend. Tash also has impeccable taste, which I’ve long admired.

It’s with absolute excitement that I can officially announce that I am curating an online boutique. Yes, my very own store! Something I’ve wanted to do for so long and it feels really good. This store of mine isn’t a regular online store though, I will be doing this through the Great.ly channel. Now if you haven’t heard about Great.ly then that’s pretty normal because today approximately 50 chosen bloggers and influencers are announcing the launch of their curated boutiques. It really is the beginning of something ground breaking. Read on and I’ll tell you how it works.

I’m working on something really exciting at the moment, well exciting for me and hopefully it will be received well by all of you too! To give you a hint, it’s something that I’ve wanted to do for a very long time but until now because it didn’t feel right.
