Finding a Bargain Part 2
Hi everyone, I’m back with Finding a Bargain. In this mini-series, I show you an area in our home and reveal the great buys we found along the way. It’s to prove that you needn’t spend a fortune to decorate, it’s about keeping an eye out at all times and being ready to purchase a deal at the time you see it, because in my experience you rarely find it when you’re looking for it! You can see part 1 here.
Jars Glorious Jars
Do you remember when I spoke about the need to get a little organised? Well I was forced to after horrible little pantry moths suddenly appeared everywhere. I tell you, I felt terrible to throw so much food away – never again! So I took my cue and finally bought loads of le parfait jars in different sizes and got organised.
Finding a Bargain
On Friday night I was having a chat with a friend who told me that he really loves reading my blog and all of the gorgeous things showcased and then with a big sigh, said that a lot of them are so out of reach for him.
The Woods
Today I thought I’d leave you for the week with something that completely took my breath away when I saw it yesterday.
The Woods is a second collaboration between Norwegian design studios StokkeAustad and Andreas Engesvik and was inspired by the forests and the lights of the north. I love the form of this exquisite hand blown glass sculpture of seven trees; its simplicity captures the colour and beauty of the hand blown glass.
An Evening in Conversation with Tom Dixon
Last night I had the absolute pleasure of spending an evening as a guest of Simon James Concept Store and The Department Store to listen to iconic British designer, Tom Dixon, in conversation with Home New Zealand editor, Jeremy Hansen.
Open Kitchen Shelving
When we rented our villa in Auckland, one of the things that I fell in love with immediately in the house was the open shelving in the kitchen. I’ve always been a fan of open shelves, I think it gives a kitchen, a room that can quite often look sterile, a bit of life.
Enchanted by a String Garden
Franco Albini, The Rattan Design Edge
With summer closer in the southern hemisphere, I thought I’d do a post on the good old rattan style chair as this kind of furniture is so comfortable in the warmer months with their airy flexible frames.
