I’m working on something really exciting at the moment, well exciting for me and hopefully it will be received well by all of you too! To give you a hint, it’s something that I’ve wanted to do for a very long time but until now because it didn’t feel right. I won’t have you hanging on for long but I just want to wait until it’s set up until I reveal it to you!

On the Wall | Anu of DecorDots Blog

I met Anu online not long after starting AP&C close to two years ago, take aside that she’s such a lovely and warm person, she does a great edit of Nordic design which she shares on her beautiful blog Decordots. All of the seriously pinworthy images that she shares are found after her self confessed hours and hours of scanning through interior websites and magazines. Recently I noticed a lovely coloured wall in her home on her Instagram feed so I thought it might be fun if she wouldn’t mind sharing what she has hanging on it with us today. Please welcome Anu and all the way from Estonia!

Urban Bloggers Challenge - Balcony

This month’s Urban Jungle Bloggers challenge is to show our green balcony or window sill. I chose the balcony knowing full well that this might be my last opportunity to show some outdoor for a few months as we’re heading into winter over here.

french armiore

If you’ve been a reader of this blog since the early days, you may recall me talking about an armoire that we inherited along with a few other beautiful pieces from Guillaume’s grandparents in France. Inside it was lined with fabric that his Grandmother did about forty years prior and it was looking rather tired. When Guillaume’s mother told us that she was coming to visit for a couple of months the Christmas before last and asked for a project to work on, I knew exactly what she could do, reline the armoire.

Urban Jungle Bloggers – March Challenge

I’ve enjoyed following the Urban Jungle Bloggers the past few months and couldn’t resist joining in on the fun this time.

The March styling challenge was in fact a true one for me because the subject is spring and/or Easter and argh over this side of the world, we’ve just moved into – autumn! So considering the seasons, I originally thought that Easter would be the more doable option for me but then my weekend turned out to be pretty jam packed and with very little time to get creative. So a spring (ish) plant vignette it is.

How was your weekend everyone? We were house bound most of it as we experienced the tail end of Cyclone Lasi here in New Zealand so we put ourselves to good use and painted the small room ready for our eldest son to move into. I’ll certainly share the end result with you in the coming weeks once we’ve finished setting it up.

Hello twenty fourteen indeed! I hope that you all had a great festive season. New Years Eve was celebrated during our week away in the Tapapakanga Regional Park. Guillaume and I put the children to bed, popped open a bottle of champagne and sat outside under the perfect clear night sky looking at the bright stars with the moon just the tiniest of a slither. I saw two shooting stars that night, the first that I’ve seen since I was living in Greece so many years ago. Kind of a perfect sign for the new year don’t you think?

The wannabe DIY’er in me has been eyeing off this Mima + Moo Macramé Kit for over a year until I finally bought it last month in my quest to bring more plants into our home. It was so simple to make with everything needed except the pot and plant and included clear instructions; perfect for someone like me that usually fails miserably with these kinds of things.
