On The Wall - Doris of Interior Novice1

Doris purchased her London apartment a few years ago and threw herself into making it into a family home. It was during that time that a shift happened in her life and she realised how much she enjoyed the process, so she enrolled herself in an Interior Design course. Her blog, Diary of an Interior Novice is a document of all of her learning along with personal projects and interesting interviews with professionals who have also had career changes. It’s such a pleasure to welcome Doris today as she shares with us, what’s on her wall.

My-Space-The-Inner-Interior-Bedside-Table

Today my guest for the My Space series, is the very lovely Jocelyn Cassey. Jocelyn leads a very interesting life and is blessed to live between two cities that really couldn’t be more different from the other; Arizona, USA and Hamburg, Germany. Her blog, The Inner Interior, explores the art of designing and exploring the artful life and while Jocelyn is an Interior Designer by trade and you can go there for some great tips and advice, what I enjoy most of all is that she delves a little deeper.  I have no doubt that like me, you’ll to be enriched by reading Jocelyn’s personal experiences and reflections on interior design and life. I’m so happy to have her here today, sharing her favourite space in her Arizona home with us.

Interview with Mel Chesneau on Simple Style Notebook

It was such a pleasure to be interviewed by Amy from Simple Style Notebook about blogging, my online Great.ly store and what’s in store for the future.

Being interviewed alone is such a great honour, but for it to be in her Inspirational Women column is very humbling, so thank you so much Amy!

Voice of the Vignette

Over the weekend it was my pleasure to be a guest at The Inner Interior for a monthly column called, “The Voice of the Vignette”. The concept is for a blogger or designer to create a vignette in their home, photograph it and share what meaning it holds for them. I really enjoyed this theme and hope that you pop over and have a look at my little scene and the story behind it.

Emerald Green Interiors home

After a refreshing break from my everyday life and responsibilities, I can truly appreciate today’s My Space feature. Corinne Kowal is a colour consultant and authors the blog, Emerald Green Interiors. She has long tooted the benefit of colour in the home, long before the re-emergence of coloured walls and when it was all about “white”. I first admired her elegant decorating style after seeing a feature on her old apartment in Brussels by Holly Marder for Houzz. When she recently packed up her life and relocated to Madrid, I was so excited to see how she would decorate her new environment so after some months of settling in, I asked her if she would be my guest and share a special place in her new home with us. Well, it seems that she went beyond that actually created the space that she longed for! While I never intend to create too much work for my guests, I actually feel good about this one because everyone needs their own little sanctuary and I don’t know about you, but I’d love to curl up in this one right now.

madder and rouge auckland

When we first moved to Auckland, Madder and Rouge was one of the first interior shops that I would often visit so it’s such a pleasure to do a little shop tour of this real gem of a store today.
