Simple Style Notebook Interviews Me
It was such a pleasure to be interviewed by Amy from Simple Style Notebook about blogging, my online Great.ly store and what’s in store for the future.
Being interviewed alone is such a great honour, but for it to be in her Inspirational Women column is very humbling, so thank you so much Amy!
5 Food Questions with Kelly Gibney
Today, please welcome Kelly Gibney of the Kiwi food blog, Bonnie Delicious as my 5 Food Questions guest. I totally admire Kelly’s approach to food, she is a lover and advocate of whole food and shares delicious and (mostly) guilt free recipes that she’s created with her readers. While that’s her love and main aim, she is by no means rigid with her approach and her love of good food doesn’t stop her from exploring all of the tastes on offer from time to time. I think she’s hit a nice balance and secretly wish that I could do the same. Kelly has worked most of her adult life internationally in the food industry; she describes this as her “seedbed for her food passion”. Today, alongside looking after her young daughter and authoring the Bonnie Delicious blog, she organises feasts at The Golden Dawn, which is a bit of an institution here in Auckland and has recently opened a seasonal coffee shop repurposed from a shipping container. In the next couple of weeks Kelly, along with another foodie, Delaney Mes from Heartbreak Pie, will be cooking up something really special for Auckland’s very first Kinfolk Meal at the beautiful Indie Home Collective, which was sold out, mind you within hours of going live.
5 Decorating Questions with Will Taylor
If I had to pick one place on the Internet where I’d go to put a smile on my face, Bright Bazaar would definitely be high up on the list. Authored by Will Taylor, this extremely successful blog has just celebrated five years online. Always written in a friendly voice, Will shares his love of decor, fondness for baking and his (many) travel adventures. Also the talented photographer, his readers are forever spoilt with beautiful imagery.
5 Decorating Questions with Alice Lines
I always enjoy putting together my 5 Decorating Questions feature. It’s interesting to see in a snapshot what it is that influences a person’s personal decorating style, especially when most of my interviewees are quite often fully immersed in the decorating world. Alice Lines certainly is, and as the Editor of the New Zealand interiors magazine, Homestyle, she would spend many waking hours observing the beautiful homes that grace the bi-monthly magazine, along with keeping her finger on the pulse of the trends to report on. With that being said, it’s such a treat to have her as a guest today answering my questions and getting a glimpse into how she incorporates all of this into her personal decorating style.
Interview with Ellie Malin

I first discovered Melbourne print media artist, Ellie Malin’s work through “that” collaboration she did with Gorman early last year. I was awe struck by her ever so cool, bold edgy style and interesting use of woodblock as a medium. Her latest body of work, Moonflower is even more impressive. It has a beautiful harmony of colours, it’s graphic, playing with form that ignites our imaginations, all the while stamped with Ellie’s distinctive style. I’ve been meaning to get in contact with her for some time, so when I received her newsletter with word of her very first solo exhibition at Modern Times in Melbourne at the end of last year, while I couldn’t hop on a plane myself to view it first hand, I took the opportunity to ask her a few questions. I hope that you enjoy her answers, along with a selection of her latest work as much I do.
5 Food Questions with Sarah Tuck
Let me introduce you to Sarah; a Kiwi who writes a brilliant food blog, From The Kitchen. It’s a fairly recent discovery that I was so happy when I did. You know the ones, every image pin worthy, and loads of delicious and mostly uncomplicated looking recipes. Sarah’s day job is that of a recipe developer, food stylist and photographer so you can imagine what her readers are in for. Coupled with that is a friendly writing voice that you can’t help smile while reading – you’ll get an idea about what I mean with her answers below. Really, if you haven’t yet met the blog, “In The Kitchen”, make sure you pop over to say hi, you won’t be disappointed! It’s without saying that I’m so pleased to have Sarah here today to answer my 5 Food Questions!
5 Decorating Questions with Kara Rosenlund
Photo by Jason Star, Studio Sixty
If there’s one girl out there to be named the darling of interiors right now, it would have to be Kara Rosenlund. Kara, who has been recently named by Elle Decoration UK as the “modern day Martha”, first came to the spotlight with Travelling Wares, a travelling vintage shop in a 1950’s adorably restored caravan named “Frankie”. Then there’s her blog; moments of her life captured with her husband Timothy O and their two bantam chickens, in their renovated 1880’s workers cottage. If you’re on Pinterest, you’d probably know it well. With a background in photography and more recently a stylist with a home full of the most interesting revolving collection of wares, this blog will have you dreaming.
