A home prop box for the stylist within
Something that I always wish for is to have more places to display things in the home. I don’t like clutter so have quite a few things packed away in various boxes and drawers. Organised storage is not my forte! I find it really frustrating to not be able to put them all out on show, because I love these things. Then the other day while I was doing my kitchen revamp I had a thought. I had neglected the area and placed a whole bunch of things that I love on the windowsill and didn’t know what to do with. Clutter disaster! With this restyle I had no choice but to store things away. In the process I pulled something out of the storage box that I had forgotten about and was perfect for the new look… It feels good; it feels almost as if I’ve brought something new home!
Urban Jungle Bloggers Plant Shelfie #2
I took the challenge to create another plant shelfie for this month’s Urban Jungle Bloggers. I was going to style another shelf, but thought it would be fun, seeing that I moved house, to use that same shelf that I did the last time but in a new environment. The big challenge for me was to create something that actually looked different.
A Shared Style
If you haven’t already, I invite you to join me over at the very lovely blog, A Quiet Style, for the “A Shared Style” series. It was with such pleasure that Emma invited me to share my dining room and answer a few questions about the space and other things with her readers.
A Desk Restyle
Three months in our new home and my desk had a little restyle again. While I think it’s actually a good thing to shuffle things around, especially when it’s a creative space, the main reason for the restyle was that I wanted to put my remaining Happy Moose Wall Dot on the wall above where I work.
Happy Moose Wall Dots
You might have noticed that I love to rearrange things in my home. Because I rent, moving around artwork is always a little tricky, so I was so happy to discover Happy Moose Wall Dots recently and try them out in my new place. The idea behind the dots is to have your own images printed on removable wall decals. I have to say that I was really excited by the possibilities. We are terrible at printing photos of our kids and the family, so my initial thought was to put some fun photos up, but in the end I thought I’d go for some decorative photo art that really fits in with my interior style.
Internet Free Sundays Revisited
Some of you may recall a commitment that I made about eighteen months ago about having internet free Sundays. I did it for a while and then, well I slipped back into the smart phone oblivion of checking social media, emails and googling. A few weeks ago I subconsciously put the phone away for most of the day on Sundays, having a little sneaky peek every so often, but generally it was out of sight. I was obviously missing that break. Then last weekend, Guillaume suggested that we should make an internet free Sunday commitment together. He didn’t join me previously so I didn’t hesitate to say hell YES! I felt I needed it again, I felt we needed it as a family and our kids needed to see their parents without that iPhone in hand for a good chunk of time.
Mini Grandi Artist
I’m having so much fun redecorating the new home and just the other day had some new prints by a New Zealand artist, Sophie of Mini Grandi Artist framed. I fell in love with Sophie’s dreamy watercolours inspired by the wild and beautiful Wanaka landscapes after discovering her work, like so many artists on Instagram. I now have them on display in my entry and our bedroom. What do you think?
Win a Toodles Noodles Organisation Pack
I’ve had this giveaway in the books for a while now. I was planning on shooting all of the images when I returned from Sydney and, we all know what happened then – I moved five days after arriving back. So, the lovely Liora who is bringing you the opportunity to win a Toodles Noodles Organisation Pack has been so patient! In the end I think it’s meant to be because it probably pushed me to get my workspace finished so that I can show you how I use this product in my everyday life. Keep reading to see how you (worldwide) can enter…
