I’m happy to be back to show some new additions to my plant family for the latest Urban Jungle Bloggers edition. The topic is “Back to School – plants in your workplace”. Well workplace for me isn’t quite defined. I have two places at home where I work from; a corner table in my bedroom when the household gets too rowdy, and the kitchen table. They say that many good businesses began at the kitchen table. I keep reminding myself of that as I dream very hard of having my very own studio.

For this side of the world, today’s My Space is more than appropriate. We’re three days into spring and suddenly we are itching to get outside and make our very own space in the garden. It’s a pleasure to introduce my guest today, Emma who authors the lifestyle blog, A Quiet Style which is filled with interior inspiration, fashion, handmade and life with her two beautiful girls. Emma has such a lovely online presence and also a big passion for flowers, which is reflected in her stunning Instagram feed. Instagram really is such an inspiring place to be at the moment. On an artistic level it’s an everyday training tool for  capturing and understanding what makes a great photo and for some, it encourages us to practice the art of styling. Some of these IG feeds I’m talking about just take you into this dreamy world; each and every image, ever so slightly touching on the life of the photographer. Hilde Mork has one of those feeds. She has such an eye for capturing beauty, along with an impeccable hand at styling and imagination. With her beautiful Norwegian home as the backdrop, Hilde’s followers sure are in for a visual treat.

Urban Bloggers Challenge - Balcony

This month’s Urban Jungle Bloggers challenge is to show our green balcony or window sill. I chose the balcony knowing full well that this might be my last opportunity to show some outdoor for a few months as we’re heading into winter over here.

How was your weekend everyone? We were house bound most of it as we experienced the tail end of Cyclone Lasi here in New Zealand so we put ourselves to good use and painted the small room ready for our eldest son to move into. I’ll certainly share the end result with you in the coming weeks once we’ve finished setting it up.

Hello twenty fourteen indeed! I hope that you all had a great festive season. New Years Eve was celebrated during our week away in the Tapapakanga Regional Park. Guillaume and I put the children to bed, popped open a bottle of champagne and sat outside under the perfect clear night sky looking at the bright stars with the moon just the tiniest of a slither. I saw two shooting stars that night, the first that I’ve seen since I was living in Greece so many years ago. Kind of a perfect sign for the new year don’t you think?
