#styledcanvaschallenge | Vintage Today
Are you ready? This month’s Styled Canvas Challenge is, “vintage today”. How do you see the use of vintage in the modern world?
**Extended to the month of August due to moving house**
Before I begin, I have to say that I had some really lovely entries for last month’s “breakfast in bed” theme on various blogs and around Instagram. As the theme officially closed yesterday, I’ll take the next week to go over them and feature my favourite in both categories here on the 15th of this month. Thank you to everyone that took part, it’s going to be tough to choose!
Finding A Bargain Part 3
Oh what a morning I’ve had! Firstly it’s school holidays here in New Zealand so I’ve got my hands full with my three little ones running around and to top it off, my husband returned from a work trip to find that his car didn’t start, so we had to wait all morning for it to be towed away much to the delight of the kids.
Finding a Bargain Part 2
Hi everyone, I’m back with Finding a Bargain. In this mini-series, I show you an area in our home and reveal the great buys we found along the way. It’s to prove that you needn’t spend a fortune to decorate, it’s about keeping an eye out at all times and being ready to purchase a deal at the time you see it, because in my experience you rarely find it when you’re looking for it! You can see part 1 here.
Finding a Bargain
On Friday night I was having a chat with a friend who told me that he really loves reading my blog and all of the gorgeous things showcased and then with a big sigh, said that a lot of them are so out of reach for him.
Flotsam & Jetsam Auckland
There’s something about this photo of Cameron standing at the entrance of Flotsom and Jetsam. While editing the photos for this post, I had the urge to turn it to black and white, to somehow pay homage to the history of this shop front, just as Cameron does on his website, using an old photo from the original shop, Steptoe & Son. It then went on to become Lord Ponsonby’s Antiques, and just last month, opened its doors to Flotsam and Jetsam after outgrowing its old premises.
The Vitrine Auckland
One of my favourite stores in Auckland is The Vitrine, and if you’ve read my about me page, you’ll understand why I think the owners, Amanda and Julien have one of the coolest jobs in the world; travelling back to France and going to the best flea markets in Europe, to fill their warehouse store in Grey Lynn.
