Vintage signs make such great decorating pieces, and the good thing is, that even though it’s a real trend at the moment, you will usually find something completely unique!
Here’s a photo of a French vintage street sign that we found at a flea market in France a few years ago. It would have to be one of my favourite pieces in the house. The translation for it is “cul de sac of the women at the door”. A very eloquent way of saying it don’t you think? So a bit of fun!
You will usually find vintage signs at any good second hand shop. If you’re in Auckland, you are sure to find a huge selection of signs at Flotsam & Jetsam and I know that The Vitrine has a gorgeous old blackboard from England. Check them out!
For those of you preferring the net, I had little hunt around and found these vintage signs for sale on Etsy that I think would look great in any interior:

love the idea of old signs. i love going to flea markets and looking at them, but have no wall space or room. cute decor idea though! Teri
One of my favourite shows is ‘American pickers’ and they are always on the hunt for cool vintage signs! I love them too…a little piece of social history! Those old bus roll black and white prints are great too!
These are just so wonderful!
We have a Carnaby Street sign that we bought in…Carnaby Street. I love it! Plus a few vintage-looking French ones of chocolate or biscuits – and Banania :)
