I’ve always been notoriously bad at keeping my windows clean. I could sit down at the kitchen table to have a cup of tea and stare through the dirty smudges out into the garden and remind myself each time that they need cleaning before I’d actually do something about it weeks later. When I moved into my house, the previous tenant left a bottle of Premium Glass Polish by Murchison Hume behind. It was a while before I picked it up; it looked so luxurious sitting in my cupboard. Finally I gave it a go and somehow cleaning the window didn’t seem like such a chore, it was quite pleasurable after all. Am I a victim of marketing? Perhaps, but at least my windows are now (usually) clean.
So I’m wondering if I purchased some lovely French lavender water for my iron, might I open my wardrobe each morning to a selection beautifully pressed clothes? And I wouldn’t raise my eyebrows at scrubbing the pots if I had a lovely natural dish brush to hold, nor would I flinch at drying them with some beautiful linen tea towels. Of course this would be after gliding the goat hair dust brush over the furniture earlier on in the day and leaving a hint of the orange blossom in the air with Côté Bastide spray.
We need an excuse to make these domestic chores a little more enjoyable don’t you think?

I agree, Mel, cleaning windows is a chore that’s easy to put off but with those fog linen towels I think it would be that bit more bearable!
