Today I’m back with my new regular feature, My Space and I’m so pleased to have Hege, from the gorgeous blog, Hege in France sharing a little piece of her world with us . Hege is Norwegian and lives in France with her Scottish husband and their young son. Her blog is about interior decorating and DIY projects – I especially enjoy her weekly feature, “Tuesday Tips” along with her own home styling shoots. Some very exciting news is that her home will be featured in an upcoming Norwegian interior book, “Sanselige Rom”, which translates to “Room for all the Senses”.
Thank you for sharing your space with us Hege, I’m in love your vintage leather chair and great sense of style!
As an interior design enthusiast since the age of 12, I read a lot of interior design magazines. I love taking some time out to sit in my 1930s leather chair. It was one of the first things I bought in France and it came from a Brocante in the south of France. The chair was sat out on the pavement just outside the shop and I made my husband turn the car round and go back for a closer look. We could barely fit the chair in the car, but somehow managed to drive the 5 hours with it in the back of the car. The chair has been with us ever since.
Although I love Pinterest and reading other blogs I like getting away from my PC. I still like coming up with ideas and writing notes in little notebooks, so this is my perfect little spot to do just that. It’s also a great place to enjoy a coffee and a macaroon or two.
Here’s a link to the little DIY project you can see in the photo .
Readers if you haven’t done so already, make sure you visit Hege’s blog and experience her selection of serious eye candy and great tips, along with some of her own gorgeous projects around the home. Mel x

Oh Hege’s home is just gorgeous and I totally relate to writing lots of ideas down in little notebooks, which I always have by the side of my bed. Love her work-infact must put her on the blogroll-thanks for the nudge Mel. Happy weekend Melk and Hege! x
Have a lovely weekend to you too Caroline xox
Thanks so much, lovely Mel!! Happy weekend! hx
You’re welcome Hege and thank you for sharing your great space! xox
lovely space – I couldnt agree more.. whilst I love the internet and how its made our world a much smaller place, I think we all need to have a break from the screens and get back to the joy of reading, writing, conversation…and time for day dreaming too!
@Christina – oh yes, that chair!
@Anastasia – funny that she mentioned that because I’ve been thinking about that and reading it everywhere, must be a sign. Tech free moments!
I’m a big fan of her blog as well! Love all those textures and the mixed patterns and that leather chair is just amazing.
I am a usual reader as well of her blog and like her style a lot. And I like a good story such as finding a real treasure on the street! Happy weekend, Mel and Hege!
@Gudy – yes love those stories, it makes a piece even more beautiful I think:) Happy weekend to you too Gudy x
@Michelle – cosy indeed, I’d love to curl up in that chair right now! Enjoy your weekend too Michelle x
