Ildhane nedre foss

Meet Ildhane, an eccentric bird candleholder and stunning debut design by Nedre Foss, a studio formed by Anderssen & Voll and definitely a Styled Canvas Favourite.

I’ve long admired the work of these two Norweigen designers, Torbjørn Anderssen and Espen Voll, and previously featured a collaboration of their work for the Food Work Project on the blog. The two are most known for their designs for brands like Wrong for Hay, Muuto, Magis, Erik Jørgensen, Kvadrat and Foscarini. Now they’ve branched out and formed Nedre Foss and I’m excited to see what they will come up with next.

Perfect for all of the festivities of the moment, or for every day, Ildhane was designed this year while the duo was working on the interior of the ‘Nedre Foss Gård’, restaurant in Oslo. ‘Ild’ means fire and ‘hane’ rooster in Norweigian.

The Ildhane candlestick has a beautiful strong form in cast iron that is built to last, and I wouldn’t mind betting that this will become an iconic piece of design in the future. Another one for the wish list!

Hi Acushla. The candle has only just been released, and things tend to take a little longer to make its way to our shores I’ve found:( But, I could imagine it somewhere like Simon James Concept! I will check with them and see if it’s on their radar and let you know.
