When I hit publish on my first post twelve months ago, I really had no idea how this blog would be perceived and if anyone would read it. But you came and a lot of you continue to pop by and read my words and ideas and some of you leave lovely comments that really make my day. It’s a great place for me to be.

Yesterday I knew that I wanted to write a little personal thank you to you all but had no idea what image I could use, so I put together this little vignette in the corner of my bedroom and took a photo of it. What was so nice about doing this little project was that I would never have been able to do that a year ago – doing this blog has pushed me in so many ways. In the beginning my husband took the photos for me as I had no idea how to use a manual camera, now I wouldn’t hesitate to and the photography is almost 100% mine.  Blogging has turned out to be this unexpected school, from writing to styling, photography and social networking to name a few.

A year ago today I published a story on The Vitrine and I would like to thank them for trusting me to do a story on them before my blog was even published. I have also been particularly blown away by the support of the lovely New Zealanders from day one, even though I’m an “Aussie”.  Thank you to all of my subjects willingly or unbeknown to them until it was posted. Thanks to my fellow blogging comrades, much of them I’ve met through the most incredibly supportive Blogging Your Way community. Thank you Dad and Guillaume! Okay now I’m sounding like an Oscar speech! Finally and most importantly, thank you to each of you for popping by, I appreciate you so much and hope that somehow, I can make your day a little brighter because you certainly do make mine.

Congrats on a year. I always love reading and looking at your blog. Lovely photos and words. I think we all learn by doing and mastering anything takes practice.

A year from now, you will wish you had started today. Oh look, you did that already :)
