I’ve enjoyed following the Urban Jungle Bloggers the past few months and couldn’t resist joining in on the fun this time.
The March styling challenge was in fact a true one for me because the subject is spring and/or Easter and argh over this side of the world, we’ve just moved into – autumn! So considering the seasons, I originally thought that Easter would be the more doable option for me but then my weekend turned out to be pretty jam packed and with very little time to get creative. So a spring (ish) plant vignette it is.
Yesterday I went for a little walk up the road to Three Lamps, Ponsonby in search of the colour of spring. There wasn’t a lot but I did find a happy yellow espresso cup in Superette that I thought would be perfect to plant a cactus in. That set the theme for the other planters and I’ve now gained three new and easy plants for my home!
I used the Ukrainian army stool as a prop for a plant table, which we recently purchased from The Vitrine, for our son’s bedroom makeover. We’re still doing the finishing touches to that but it soon will be revealed and who knows, he might even gain a plant for his room.
Make sure you check out Igor’s spring table setting and Judiths Easter styling and all of the others by searching with #urbanjunglebloggers on twitter and Instagram. You can join along too! See below description and links for details.

Hello Mel, I loved this vignette for its clean and simple feel (for me). I love the stool and well, everything! I am so glad I found you through Tina…I will be sure to stop by often. Have a wonderful day! Jocelyn x
Thanks Jocelyn! It really was fun doing and look forward to the next one:) Mel xx
Looks beautiful and stylish! I have thought about joining along, but I don’t know what I have been waiting… I have plenty of green friends at home, so maybe I should also present them, they deserve it! :)
Will the April challenge be posted on their Facebook page?
I was thinking about it for so long too Anu! Now I’m really looking forward to the next challenge:) You can sign up on their Facebook page and they will email you the topic. Look forward to seeing yours! M x

Glad you joined in the fun. It is fun, right?
LOVE the Ukrainian army stool as a prop for a plant table. Also that green cushion is fab.
Beautifully executed Mel. xx
Thanks Tina. Yes so much fun and good for the soul. xx
I haven’t seen all the contributions but you did definitely the most challenging job and it has turned out gorgeous, Mel! For me it looks like you are right into Spring now and live at this part of the globe (I wish you did!). Your son is getting an early ‘style’ education:-) xx
Oh it’s so true about the style education. He came back from school with his bedroom in shambles poor thing, I have to say he was very gracious about it though. xx
What a marvellous job Mel – and the army stool looks astonishing along with your new plants, thumbs up for your wonderful inspiration for the Urban Jungle Bloggers challenge. Enjoy your week and autumn dear Mel:-)
Oh thanks Mette, such a lovely comment! You should join along with one of your gorgeous DIY’s! M xx
