A self-watering planter is nothing short of brilliance. This is coming from somebody who adores plants, and I’m always intending to water them, but just forget to. As I write this, I’m looking to the corner of my living room where a bunch of flowers are in desperate need of a top up.
My plants are okay in the winter months, they sit out on my deck and are never short of drink, thanks to Mother Nature and the few inside are succulents and cacti’s and they tend to survive my forgetfulness mostly. Now is the tricky time, less rain, more sun, a lot of air circulation from under the deck and if I’m not careful, I might lose a few of them in the coming months.
You can imagine my attraction to a self-watering planter, especially for my herb plants as they aren’t as hardy. It’s not a new idea, I got reminded again when I saw the Pottina & Pottone planters on the Marie Claire Maison Instagram feed from Maison et Object the other day; I fell in love with not only the practicality of it, but the design. They’re cute aren’t they? A bunch of them would look fantastic together and I adore the variety of base colours and sizes. At the moment they seem to be only available in Belgium but if they were at Maison et Object, we’ll be sure to see them available worldwide soon.

Have a great weekend everyone.

What a brilliant idea! I’m not normally a house plant person, but you’ve reminded me about that succulent I’ve got under the birdcage, I suspect it probably needs to come inside soon
Love that gorgeous birdcage of yours xx
The serial plant killer in me (managed to kill a cactus, guilty as charged) finds the idea brilliantly efficient and decorative!
Oh you make me feel better Donatina. Ha! Mel x
