It’s with great pleasure today that I have Karine Köng, of the Bodie and Fou fame as my 5 Decorations Guest. Talented stylist, one half of the award winning online concept store, and lifestyle blogger, Karine certainly knows a thing or two about creating that perfect space in the home, her impeccably curated and award winning concept store is lusted over by design bloggers and interior magazines worldwide. If you haven’t yet had the pleasure of visiting the Bodie and Fou online boutique, it really should be on your list if you’re after some effortless chic. Oh and did I mention that she is French? Mais oui, of course!

Over to you Karine…

How would you best describe your style?

White, modern, relaxed and effortless with vintage treasures. I love having objects in my home I have a connection with…

What is your favourite room?

Umm, trick question. I’m a homebody. I love hanging out at home, doing my own things and then have friends and family around for diner. Given that we are currently renovating our London home and have designed a lot of rooms exactly how we wanted, I think I will never leave our home again :-)

Seriously, it used to be the lounge because I could have some quality time (and heaps of cuddles) with my daughter Mila, curling up on the sofa but once the house is done, it will probably be the lounge, the kitchen, the bathroom and our home office.

If you could choose any one design piece for the home right now, no expense, what would it be?

I would love the Ghost bed, Paola Navone designed for Gervasoni

White linen or coloured?

White linen and coloured in soft hues of blues and grays. I love soothing colours and tones that remind me of nature.

Great decoration…

… is when you feel inspired by your surroundings and are happy to be at home.

I love Karine’s style, she really is so classy. I really identify with the homebody part and that being inspired by your surroundings and happy at home is the key to great interior decoration and design. xD

Hi Mel, So pleased to discover your, I am a Kiwi Blogger and discovered your blog via NZ House and Garden’s latest issue. I definitely need to spend a little more time here and will sign up for your emails.

Like you, I blog Mon, Wed and Friday too and am crazy about interior design. My blog started with my art and was a way of escape when I was looking after my mum who had cancer. what started as a hobby, is now much a part time job but I love it and would post even more if I didn’t suffer from chronic dry eye. I hope you get a chance to look around my blog too.

    I will be back :)
