changes coming

Hello everyone. I just wanted to pop in very late in the day for me to say hi and to share some news with you.

It’s always good to grow and change, and one thing that has been on my mind for the past months is how I can better this blog. I really love being here and I have so many exciting ideas in the works but there has always been this one niggling thing that I knew had to happen first – a name change. Yes I know, it’s a big change and really, it’s something that I’ve wondered whether I could avoid or not but I always return back to the decision that yes, it must change. I feel that the current one is holding me back.

When I came up with the name, I didn’t give it great thought, with no experience in the blog world, I just did a little brainstorming one night and thought that Armoire Pegs & Casserole sounded rather cute, so the decision was made then and there. I didn’t consider whether it truly represented the style of my blog nor how long it was and how difficult it is to remember. So I stuck with it the past couple of years and the name still remains very special in my heart but I’ve outgrown it and it doesn’t serve me anymore. Most importantly, if it doesn’t serve me, then I don’t think that I would have the passion to bring you the quality that you deserve.

Now for the new name! Wow, this is not easy. I’ve spent the past couple of weeks brainstorming, and everything that I’ve come up with has pretty much been taken, so I’m still working on it, I know the perfect name is out there somewhere… Of course, feel free to suggest any that you think reflects the blog but just keep it shorter than my current one okay?

So what does this mean for you? You will get the same blog, only better and with a different name. I will continue to focus on original content, I will go out in search of more and I will introduce new exciting things. This will not be a new blog; it’s just a name change with evolving content. To avoid confusion when people are redirected to the new name, I will wait a couple of months after to do some website rebranding to freshen things up.

I’m so very excited about the future of this blog, I literally have butterflies thinking about the possibilities and I really hope that you support me in this journey.

I promise to keep you updated as things progress.

Mel xx

I have loved your blog, your word, your style, your work from day one.

Everything about you is inspiring Mel. seriously.

Your blog and your instagram feeds, they are extensions of yourself – you, as a person.

and I, as one your many readers, must say, I feel so very blessed to be allowed in your creative world regularly.

So whatever name and branding you are transitioning into, I just want you to know that I will still be sticking around :) x

your blog name is quite unusual and works really well in that respect, it truly stands out. This being said, blogs are great tools to take a step back and look at things from a new perspective. That’s how we grow and challenge ourselves, right? So happy restyle to you and I am looking forward to the new name :-)

It’s a tough decision and believe me, a lot of thought and back and forths went into it… There’s a lot of us out there. You can use me as an experiment and then decide;-) Mel x

Good question. It would be good to go with the new rebranding but there’s a big risk that people who weren’t made aware of the name change prior will be confused on redirection and leave. Still open to doing it together though. A lot to think about. x

So much great support for the right decision Mel, those that know you and love your blog will of course continue to follow. I’ve written before on my blog about how we become so attached to our labels and your blog name is a great example, but your blog is so much more than the name you gave it all those years ago, and with a new name it will become even more. Embrace the change – good decision. xx

Really exciting news, Mel! I’m sure you’ll come up with something original and more easily memorable! I have changed the blog name also once, but it was quite soon after starting, so that the old name wasn’t associated with my blog so strongly then. I definitely know how hard this process is, I thought long and hard before finding the name that shows the topic a little bit and at the same time wasn’t taken already.

    Big hugs! xx

Best of luck with the name change – have changed the name of my gardening blog (currently private) at least twice and it’s about to change once more as it goes public again.
Until you become an internationally famous brand (!) I don’t think you need to worry too much about adverse effects…….

Exciting to see where your blog is heading and what the name will be!
A sum up of three things in a name, like the one you have now, can be confusing as to which comes first.
However, it is good that it starts with ‘A’: you’ll often come out on top in alphabetical lists ;) Maybe something to consider when thinking of a new name. Narrows it down? Just a little.
In the midst of something new myself, I’ve been holding off for a year (we’re good athis ;)) but now I’m finally working on it.
    Exciting times. Good luck! xx

So cool!! I totally understand the feeling of a name holding things back! I went through the same dilemma with HP when I felt I wanted to offer a wider more diverse range but the name just held me back all the time… It is great you found the courage to tackle it and move on, I am sure you will come up with a name that will give you the confidence to take the adventure a step further!

Good luck with the brainstorming Mel, but I know you’ll come up with something fabulous! If something occurs to me I’ll throw it your way (unlikely – I’m not an ‘ideas’ person :)
