I took the challenge to create another plant shelfie for this month’s Urban Jungle Bloggers. I was going to style another shelf, but thought it would be fun, seeing that I moved house, to use that same shelf that I did the last time but in a new environment. The big challenge for me was to create something that actually looked different.
Yesterday, I did what I tend to do quite often these days, create an explosion in the house in the name of styling! I took our (trillions of) books out of the shelf trying very hard to keep them in order on the floor. I then went about placing the plants that I wanted to use and then filled in the gaps. It certainly feels a lot airier than the last plant shelfie.
Why don’t you take a look at the same book-shelf styled with plants this time last year and tell me which one you prefer?
Like always it was a pleasure to join Urban Jungle Bloggers and show off some of my houseplants. I look forward to seeing what everyone else comes up with.
Happy weekend everyone!

Yes, very nice to see the difference. This looks great! I always love your artefacts. They go with everything and always make your rental space stand out. Hope you had a good weekend. x
Thanks Tina. I’m dreaming of a huge shelf to put our artefacts as a real collection. M xx
Compleeeeetely different from last year, Mel! Very stylish, it “breathes” more than last year’s version. Thanks for the beautiful #plantshelfie and have a lovely weekend! xx
Seems to be a consensus! I prefer this one too… the books are back on now, I do love displaying books but need a huge shelf I think:) x
I love your shelfie Mel – gorgeous :) I am also fond of your African ornaments, I have collected some like these when I went to S A a few years ago. Have a great weekend x

Thanks Anya! I’d love to see your statues x
Hi Mel!
I prefer this year’s styling, because it’s such a good looking piece of furniture and it gets more attention in this less crowded styling.
Have a great weekend!
Hugs/Susanne
Thanks Susanne. Yes it’s nice to have it airy – we have so many books, I need a huge wall built in I think:)
What a beautiful and inspiring plant shelfie, Mel! I love all the earthy and natural details in your collection! And those African (?) figurines are amazing! Thank you for joining us again!!
Thanks Igor, yes I do love those statues – mostly African except the big one which comes from New Caledonia. x
