Last Sunday we started the afternoon at our friend’s house and after an early dinner we all walked up to Franklin Road, Ponsonby, to take in the (must see) Christmas lights. We all have those streets in our city don’t we? It really is the trigger for the Children that Santa will soon arrive and the excitement levels ramp up a little more. For me it’s the sign to slow down and spend time enjoying the little things, especially my family.
We’re in a new street, with lovely new neighbours and today we’ll be baking some cookies together and the children will take great pride in delivering them. I think we’ll double the quantity this year and go a bit further up the street as I noticed an elderly lady that always sits out the front of her house, so happy to see the children scoot past after a trip the park. We always give her a big wave.
I’ll be taking a couple of weeks off on the blog to soak up the sunshine, my family and catch up with friends. I hope that you also take some much deserved time out from your busy schedules.
Before I sign off for the year, I would like to thank you so much for reading my thoughts and ideas this past year. It’s been a big year for me starting with the rebranding and ending with an award and I owe it to you and your support for helping me get there. I’d also like to thank my wonderful sponsors of the blog this year, who enable me to work from home doing what I love.
If you’re still after some blog inspiration and discoveries over the holidays, have a browse through my regular blog reads on the bottom right of my sidebar. I’ve also organised for some of my older posts that you may have missed over the years to be shared on Facebook. Of course, I’ll be connecting with everyone and sharing snippets of my staycation on Instagram.
Have a wonderful Christmas to all that celebrate it and happy holidays to all!
See you back here next year.
Mel xx
