I had some fun doing some styling for The Foxes Den over the weekend. With the change of seasons, the one area in the home that I find needs to adapt, is the bedroom and with cooler weather arriving, I needed something a little cosier.
Off with the linen top sheet, cotton blanket and bedspread and out came the fluffy duvet. How did summer come and go so quickly? I always love the feeling of linen on my skin and those of you that have read this blog from the early days would know that I’m a long time fan. I chose to work with a classic Atlas Living Cover Set, only this time in a colour pallet that I haven’t had before, steel blue. It was great to play with a stronger colour than my usual whites and soft greys. I really like the end result.
We usually have the jielde lamp in the living room, however I’ve been dying to use it in the bedroom for ages so this was the perfect excuse, it’s such a cool lamp to have beside the bed. A real statement and it works really well with the steel blue.
The other thing that I love about linen bedding is that contrary to belief, it doesn’t need to be ironed, in fact the natural creases give it that real laid back feel, which makes a bed more welcoming. It certainly works well in my life where if I can avoid ironing, I will at any cost! Linen is also perfectly fine to pop in the tumble dryer and gets softer with age.
The Foxes Den is a recent discovery of mine after finding them in The Shelter, a gorgeous shared contemporary space combining fashion, homeware and food on Mackelvie Street, Ponsonby. The store is beautifully curated and I really appreciate that they focus on eco-friendly, ethically made product that’s functional without compromising on beauty. If you’re in the area, it’s a lovely shopping experience that I highly recommend. You can also find them online with free shipping and returns throughout New Zealand.

This post was in partnership with The Foxes Den. All views and experiences are of my own and with the promise that I genuinely love this product.
Lovely, Mel! The lamp does look good here. And I’m so with you on the whole ironing thing, ha. Linen is definitely on the wishlist, such a beautiful fabric. We now ‘just’ have dark grey cotton, but not ironing it gives it a linen feel (or so I tell myself ;)).
Ha, love your outlook Yvonne and a kindred spirit for ironing. Honesty, once my mother-law introduced me to linen sheets, it was impossible to go back! Worth saving up for;-) xx
Beautiful styling Mel. And that portrait is just as stunning as ever!!!! Happy new week!
Thanks Igor, it was lovely product to work with! I know right, that portrait is the perfect prop. Hope you’re settling in to the routine away from holidays well:)
