True to Scandinavian design, Finnish designer, Anna Palomaa works very much with functionality and experimental as the backbone to her objects. While she works in many different facets of design and ceramics, I’m particularly interested in her use of reindeer hide.
I had this post planned for Friday… A challenge. A challenge for me and a challenge for anyone who wishes to join me. Something that I touched on when I guest posted for Elodie last year, yet I have to say that I’ve failed miserably on these past months.
I thought I’d use this Wednesday to do a little shout out for a cool little store out of Christchurch called, The Flock. I haven’t stepped into their physical store, however I’ve spent a reasonable time online and I just fell in love with what they do and truly embrace their ethics for the store, showcasing great design that is made with a conscience.

Earlier last month I popped into The Vitrine to check out a new addition to their warehouse, another space next door dedicated entirely to restored furniture. Like always, everything in there is swoon worthy and certainly a must to check out. I have to say that if I were renovating a house, I’d beg and plead them for that green door that’s not for sale!
Just a few hours before Mamie Annie left to take her flight back to France, she was in the kitchen, making Guillaume a few more jars of the marmalade that he so enjoys, along with whipping up one last meal for us to share together for lunch – a delicious lamb curry. The flavours subtle and even mild enough for the youngest palettes to enjoy, we all couldn’t help but take second serves.
