Citta Design Summer | Patterned Landscapes
I could imagine that as a designer, it would be quite a challenge to move from one collection to the next and ensure that the two mix seamlessly together. Citta Design has managed to pull this challenge off once again with their 2015/16 summer collection, Patterned Landscapes, inspired by the textures of Mali. Today I’m giving you a little sneak peek of what’s to come!
Styled Canvas Challenge | June Favourite
I had three beautiful blogs who took part in the June #styledcanvaschallenge. As it’s early days and I was so blown away by each of the entries, I thought I’d feature all three of them here on the blog. There were also many entries over on Instagram so today and tomorrow, I will regram my two IG favourites on my feed.
Kristina Dam Studio
I had one of those moments the other day. I saw an image shared on Facebook by I am the Lab, which took my breath away. The image was of the Botanic Storage by Kristina Dam Studio, a unit designed to place your plants inside or on top, store your magazines, shoes or accessories. The idea and design couldn’t be more perfect for the forever-trending indoor plants.
Garden Objects Online Store
The other week I had the pleasure of visiting the home and workspace of Lisa and Jared, of the gorgeous and recently opened online store, Garden Objects.
Like all good visits, it started with a friendly cuppa and a good old chat. The two had just recently arrived in Auckland. Jared, a Kiwi has been living in London for the past twelve years. After he and Lisa visited a couple of years ago, they flirted with the idea of moving to Jared’s homeland to settle. It became a reality when they had the brilliant idea of opening a concept store dedicated to all things garden. They packed up most of their belongings, including their (adorable) British cat Bertie, and started a new life here.
#styledcanvaschallenge | Vintage Today
Are you ready? This month’s Styled Canvas Challenge is, “vintage today”. How do you see the use of vintage in the modern world?
**Extended to the month of August due to moving house**
Before I begin, I have to say that I had some really lovely entries for last month’s “breakfast in bed” theme on various blogs and around Instagram. As the theme officially closed yesterday, I’ll take the next week to go over them and feature my favourite in both categories here on the 15th of this month. Thank you to everyone that took part, it’s going to be tough to choose!
Flotsam & Jetsam Warehouse
Today Flotsam and Jetsam open the roller doors to their new warehouse in Grey Lynn. I’m pretty excited by this, as it’s something I’ve heard them talk about for a while now and like many Aucklanders, I’ve been waiting in anticipation.
FOLDWORK
FOLDWORK would have to be one of the most stylish concepts that I’ve seen for a clothes air dryer.
When I was living in our apartment in Sydney, one of the biggest thing challenges I faced was having a practical system that looked good for drying our clothes. We had this sunroom where things would dry in a few hours but I was so tired of looking at the clothes rack. I was always searching for attractive ways to mount a drying system on the wall. If only this was available then, I would have purchased it immediately.
Ottoloom Luxury Towel Range
There’s nothing I enjoy better on a rainy weekend than having a soak in a hot bath with a few bath salts and a good read. It’s one of life’s little luxuries. The other day I had the perfect opportunity to do that and I thought it would be a great time to try out the new Ottoloom luxury towel range. Boy was I in for a treat.
