5 Decorating Questions with Claire Donaldson
Being new to New Zealand, I first read about Claire Donaldson of One Lovely Day over at The Design Chaser. Claire, who was born into an artistic family, tells us that when she arrived in this world; it was literally in a pot of paint. Growing up in these creative surrounds later led her to lending her talents to styling and the opening of her company, One Lovely Day. Take a look through her work and I’m sure you’ll agree that the events that Claire pulls together are nothing short of perfection and while each of them are unique and to her customers brief, there’s still that “One Lovely Day” stamp. She has most recently come up with a fabulous idea of acquiring a retro caravan, “One Lovely Wagon” that will be a mobile bar, available soon and perfect to hire for summer events.
On The Wall – Amy Bartle of Simple Style Notebook
I’m so pleased to introduce the final of the line up for my Wednesday regular features. A lovely friend and fellow blogger, Amy Bartle of Simple Style Notebook, suggested the idea of “On The Wall” to me a couple of months ago while I was in the throws of moving. I immediately fell for the idea and put it on my to do list. Of course having Amy launch it was a must!

Finding A Bargain Part 3
Oh what a morning I’ve had! Firstly it’s school holidays here in New Zealand so I’ve got my hands full with my three little ones running around and to top it off, my husband returned from a work trip to find that his car didn’t start, so we had to wait all morning for it to be towed away much to the delight of the kids.
My Space – Audrey Fitzjohn of Hello Paper
I first met Audrey after I did a post on her lovely online shop, Hello Paper last year. I really admire her style, how she photographs her products and the way that they represent her simple values in life. It took me months to find out that she actually wrote a blog herself and a very successful one at that called, La Maison Douce. Yes, another thing close to my heart, Audrey is French, and she lives in Hamilton, New Zealand with her Kiwi partner and their new born baby. She’s now in the midst of renovations but she still has a place special to her in the home that she’s sharing with us today. Audrey’s previous Hamilton home was featured in Your Home & Garden magazine in February this year. Thank you so much for sharing a little part of your space with us Audrey and congratulations on the birth of your little baby boy.
The Swing Arm Lamp
At last we’ve finally unpacked most of our boxes and found a place for all of our furniture! Although we haven’t yet hung our frames and all of the decorative bits and bobs, what we have done, is install our retro swing wall arm lamp. The last time we had it up was in Sydney so we’ve really missed it! It looks so cool and I haven’t seen one like it before – I’ll definitely take some photos in the next couple of weeks to show you, but until then, I thought I’d round up a few of my favourite swing arm lamps:

A New Mantle
The past couple of weeks I haven’t touched a box. Once the essentials were out and everything was manageable I just kind of collapsed with exhaustion. So that means we’ve got furniture around the house that we haven’t quite found a home for, barely any paintings on the wall, let alone anything decorative around and oh yes, still loads of boxes. Hardly inspiring. Yesterday I was fed up, so played around with some of our things on the mantle in our bedroom. It probably won’t stay like that, but it’s nice for now.
