On The Move (Again)
So we have to move again. Yep, that’s right and it’s an inconvenience to say the least. We’ve been in this house two years now and while we feel a little cramped, I always knew we were on a good thing. It’s in a great location, it’s renovated, warm, and it has the most incredible view that goes out to the Waitakere Ranges.
Learn | Tea Pea School
I feel like I’m a little bit of a serial learner. Whenever I hear about new courses my ears always prick up. Are you like that? Even better are courses or workshops that teach you how to do things that you’ve always wanted to do, just for the fun of it. You know the ones I’m talking about; shibori, kokedamas, cake decorating and hello – weaving!!!
Scheduling in some “me time”
I’m feeling so refreshed and focused. A little bit like I’ve come back from a holiday, only my “holiday” was simply a good dose of “me time”. It all goes back to my phone call with my coach Jaclyn last Tuesday. I had just received some inconvenient news that day (more of that another time) and I have a trillion things that I needed to get through, along with an enormous wish list of things I would like to do… She observed pretty quickly that I was feeling a rather overwhelmed and suggested that I take some time out.
Weekend & Time with Mum
My mum is visiting us from Sydney at the moment. We’re having such a lovely time together and the kids are over the moon to have one of their treasured grandparents here. One of the most difficult thing about living in a different country for me is the thought that my children don’t get to have their grandparents around in their everyday life.
Quite in the storm
It’s been a hectic couple of weeks for me. School holidays arrived what seemed like only a few weeks after the school year begun. Normally I prepare a little in advance for these moments, but with the relaunch of the blog, that all got swept under the carpet.
A quote for Wednesday | Paulo Coelho
In the weeks leading up to leaving for my European backpacking adventure, my friend Lee, whom I was travelling with with told me that she was reading this incredible book. I told her that I was reading one also. It turned out that we were both reading “The Alchemist” by Paulo Coelho. His words forever stayed with me, “When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.” What was the likelihood of reading this at the exact precise moment without the other knowing? I call it a seal of fate of what lay ahead. I had little idea of how defining this trip would be for my future.
40 Facts (about me)
A little fun today. Just the other day I enjoyed reading Jocelyn’s 40 facts (about me) post and I thought I will join in too. So here it is, some funny, strange, sad and fun facts about me:
A Quote for a Friday
“What if I fall? Oh but my darling, what if you fly?”
I’ve seen this quote going around Pinterest lately and it fits my mood perfectly. It comes from a poem by a talented young Australian girl, Erin Hanson. It reminds me about this fear of failing that so many of us feel from time to time and the thought of it can cripple us from doing what we truly want.
