Macrame Hanger Kit

The wannabe DIY’er in me has been eyeing off this Mima + Moo Macramé Kit for over a year until I finally bought it last month in my quest to bring more plants into our home. It was so simple to make with everything needed except the pot and plant and included clear instructions; perfect for someone like me that usually fails miserably with these kinds of things.

Our second entry has this gorgeous cut glass window as you walk in but actually doesn’t open for some reason so we thought it would be perfect to frame the macramé and plant.  I’m certain the plant will be quite content there with all of that filtered natural light.

I love orange so went for that one but it does come in quite a few other colours. I purchased it for $30, which I think is very reasonable considering the price of already made macramés and could make a thoughtful Christmas present for the right person.

Here is our old desk again and this time I’ve got some  unpolished brass figurines on display that Guillaume’s Grandparents acquired while they were living in Senegal as expats many, many years ago. Imagine that, living in Senegal? How totally exotic! Apparently the time they lived there were some of the best years of their lives…

I’m a wanna-be crafter too : D x I love the idea of making things by hand, I’ve sewn our curtains at home and made lots of cushions from left-over fabric but don’t seem to have the time to actually sit down to more creative crafts. I’d love to and this totally inspired me – thanks Mel xx

Lovely! I like a lot the plant you are having in there, it gives a great contrast and the price is more than fair knowing it is made by hand! I have an eye on a beaded macrame hanger and do look forward to Christmas to put it on my official list:-) Wishing you a fantastic week, Mel! xx

Well done Mel, you’ve done a wonderful job making the hanger and it looks perfect hanging in that window. I remember Macrame being an elective for me in high school which I signed up for and enjoyed every moment of. I love the satisfaction you feel when you’ve crafted something yourself. How fascinating that Guillaume’s Grandparents lived in Senegal. Wouldn’t it be great to sit down with them for an afternoon and hear their stories of what life was like there! xx

I think my Mum still has one of those owls that I made:) I actually did get to talk to them years ago about those days and that of the resistance – oh wow it was wonderful, I wish I recorded it! xx
